The magnetic folio ipad case uses a split construction in which the clear acrylic back shell and PU folio cover perform as separate parts of the same assembly. The back shell remains attached to the iPad when the folio is removed, while TPU around the perimeter adds flexible edge and corner protection. Acrylic, TPU and PU each handle a different structural task, giving the case a lighter handheld configuration without removing the protective shell.

The transparent rear panel also leaves room for graphic development. Printed artwork can occupy selected areas while other sections remain clear, allowing the back shell and folio cover to carry different visual treatments within the same product.

Y-Fold Geometry Works With The Magnetic Layout

The front cover forms its stand positions through a Y-shaped folding pattern rather than a separate mechanical support. Panel dimensions, crease placement and magnetic contact points determine how the cover changes between closed, viewing and typing configurations.

Pencil placement sits along the charging edge. The magnetic clasp holds the stylus without covering the charging position, so the clasp, folding panels and magnetic layout need to work together instead of being developed as unrelated features.

Customization & ODM Support

ODM development can begin with the required iPad dimensions and functional layout before color or branding details are finalized. Shell geometry, port openings, magnetic positions, folio proportions and Pencil clearance can all be adjusted around the intended structure.

Once the mechanical layout is confirmed, Junchi can develop Pantone colors, surface finishes, logos, back-panel graphics and packaging around the approved construction. The current product supports custom colors, multiple logo processes and customer-supplied back-cover artwork.

Projects that require structural changes can move through Junchi’s manufacturing capabilities, covering product design, mold development, injection molding, sample confirmation and mass production. Junchi also supports OEM and ODM development rather than limiting customization to existing shell formats.

Sample Development Should Confirm The Complete Assembly

A sample needs to function correctly in more than one position. Device fit, detachable shell alignment, fold geometry, magnetic contact, Pencil charging clearance and opening accuracy should remain consistent when the case is closed, separated and used as a stand.

Repeated folding and reconnection also reveal whether the folio returns to the intended position without affecting shell fit or magnetic seating.

Manufacturing & Production Control

Material interfaces require close control because acrylic, TPU and PU respond differently during forming and assembly. Production checks focus on how the clear back shell sits inside the TPU perimeter, how the folio aligns with the rear magnets and whether the folding panels retain the approved geometry.

The acrylic surface also makes scratches, printing defects and assembly marks easier to see, placing more attention on surface handling during production.
